Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): A therapy approach focused on improving helpful behaviors and reducing behaviors that may interfere with learning, communication, or daily life.
ACES ASSIST: A CT-based training that empowers educators to prevent and manage behavioral crises with proven strategies. Grounded in research, it prioritizes de-escalation and safety, and exceeds state standards through multiple certification levels.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A neurodevelopmental condition that can affect attention, impulse control, and activity levels.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A developmental condition that can affect communication, behavior, and social interaction.
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA®): An undergraduate-level certification in behavior analysis. These professionals may only provide behavior-analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®).
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®): A graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. These professional are independent practitioners who can provide behavior-analytic services and supervise the work of RBT®s, BCaBAs, and other professionals who implement behavior-analytic interventions.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS): Medical response services provided in emergencies.
Individualized Education Program (IEP): A legally binding plan developed for a student who qualifies for special education services.
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): The plural form of IEP, referring to more than one individualized education plan.
Milestones Behavioral Services (MBS): The organization name.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Protective gear worn to reduce exposure to hazards.
Registered Behavior Technician®s (RBTs): A paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior-analytic services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or RBT Requirements Coordinator who is responsible for their work.
