General Information

Milestones Behavioral Services, originally known as the Connecticut Center for Child Development (CCCD), has been serving the community since 1995. What began as one family’s determination has grown into an organization of over 200 highly-trained professionals across multiple locations. From offering individualized behavior programming and consultative services to mentoring aspiring professionals, Milestones has remained committed to improving the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Milestones Behavioral Services stands out due to our deep commitment to individualized care and our use of evidence-based practices, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our highly-trained team works across multiple settings, including our three campuses, in public schools, and in the community, ensuring that we provide comprehensive, flexible, and progressive services tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

School Enrollment & Intake Process

  1. Referral/Tour: school district referrals for prospective students can be emailed to [email protected]. Tours can also be requested using that information.
  2. Observation: after referral review, Milestones will determine if observing the prospective student in their current educational environment is necessary and will coordinate as needed.
  3. Assessment: if there is a potential opening in the school program, we will arrange an intake assessment at one of our school locations.
  4. Internal Discussion: after the intake assessment, the team will determine if the student can be accepted into the school program based on available openings.
  5. Next Steps: either the Principal or Director of Transition Services will contact the district and family with acceptance or denial information within two weeks.

Clinic Enrollment & Intake Process

  1. Contact Us: Contact Milestones for more information and to receive an intake packet.
  2. Submit Information: Send a completed packet, insurance card, and diagnostic report for us to review.
  3. Verification: Await confirmation of openings as well as insurance verification and authorization.
  4. Assessment: Once authorized, discuss next steps and set up a date and time for an assessment.
  5. Begin Services: A new authorization will be obtained for services to begin so the patient may proceed.

We do take teenage children if there are other children they can socialize with at the clinic.

Insurance & Funding

Yes! Milestones accepts a variety of insurance plans at our ABA Early Intervention Clinic.

Milestones Behavioral Services currently accepts the following insurance providers:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem
  • Cigna (Evernorth)
  • Beacon (out-of-network)
  • ConnectiCare
  • Oxford/UnitedHealthcare
  • Optum

For other insurance types, please call us to inquire about coverage options and to verify your specific plan. We’re here to help you navigate the process!

Out-of-pocket costs may vary depending on your insurance plan and the specific services required. We will work to provide as much information as possible based on your insurance policy.

Programs & Services

  • School Based Program: our school-based program is designed for students ages 3-22 who demonstrate a wide range of academic, social, communication, and daily living skills. We offer a comprehensive curriculum with an overall classroom staff to student ratio of better than 1:1 to ensure personalized attention. The program focuses on providing a well-rounded education in a structured, supportive environment. To be a candidate for this program, the student must receive a referral from their school district for services.
  • Clinic Based Program: our clinic-based program provides ABA services for young children diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities who require intensive ABA instruction. This program focuses on the development of fluent foundational skills. To be a candidate for this program, the child must have an autism diagnosis and a variety of insurance types are accepted to help pay for the services. Early Intensive ABA is a treatment program offered by Milestones for young children with autism or other developmental disabilities. Located in Milford, Connecticut, this program focuses on developing foundational skills like imitation and functional communication, which are essential for further learning. The program is designed for children who require intensive, individualized ABA instruction to build both basic and higher-level skills.

The Early Intensive ABA program at Milestones includes:

  • Behavior Assessments to evaluate the child’s needs.
  • Individualized Behavior Support Plans to create personalized strategies.
  • 1:1 and Small Group ABA Instruction for tailored learning experiences.
  • Parent/Caregiver Training (available individually or in groups) to support families.
  • Collaboration with Other Providers to ensure comprehensive care and progress.

All services in the Early Intensive ABA program are delivered by a team of highly trained professionals, including Behavior Technicians and Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). These experts work closely with each child to provide personalized treatment.

Our school program features an overall classroom staff to student ratio of better than 1:1, ensuring personalized attention. Each of our facilities provides programs specifically designed to meet the unique needs of every individual. View our current locations here.

The location of services will depend on your child’s specific needs and the program that is best suited for them. Our team will work with you to determine the best location for your child.

For our school program, each individual district provides and coordinates transportation as needed. For the clinic, transportation is only provided for Milford, Connecticut students coming after school and is arranged and approved by the child’s school.
